UPDATED accommodating some commenters:
Hey Fellow Open Saloners!
Jan Sand pm'd me from Finland, 2am his time. He wrote he was being rushed to the hospital.
I have no further information.
My heart is filled with deep concern as well as hope that he will be all right. Also with gratitude for all he means to me and to us on open salon.
Please say a prayer ... if you pray.
Please join in sending our collective good will for his welfare.
Best, libby

Libby, thanks very much for this information on Jan and I'm hoping his situation will be normal within the next few hours.
F***CK EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU PRAYING IDIOTS!!!
Jan is a proud ATHEIST!
How dare you offer the man such insult! Have you no understanding of this man's morals and ethics at all? (Don't answer, as you're all praying and preying assholes, I already know the answer).
As for me:
Jan, you friggin' bird brain, socialism is STILL the shits! It can't even exist without capitalism! C'mon, let's see your argument, you ancient old fart. PffffffffffffffffT!

"Prayer" means many things to people. My prayers (in a poetic and metaphorical sense) go with Jan, and I think he would understand well-wishes in whatever language they were expressed.
Thank you Libby for letting us know.
Many of us care deeply for him. His age is telling him his limits. Whatever will be,will be.
Please allow me to leave a direct message for Jan of whom I have the highest respect and appreciation.
Jan, wherever you are...wherever you go...may your love and spirit lead you to your destiny... and if we are lucky, we will sometimes feel your blessings.
I wish you well and I am deeply thankful for whatever I have received from your exceptionally great wisdom and love for humanity.
Fare well, my dearest friend.

Gordon, yes. I definitely wish his light to shine for a long time. He is and has been a blessing for many.
Not the best news to wake up to.
Don't do praying myself, but my hopes are that Jan makes a speedy recovery.
Glad there was a way he could let us all know there is a problem.

We can channel our good thoughts. If God chooses to reveal himself today by doing us a solid and helping Jan, I'm cool with that.
I will be watching to see he makes it "home" safe and sending good peaceful thoughts out for him....
I love that man. I considered sending myself over there to make him a proper rye bread. He has no fucking rye bread in that godless country. and now this.
oh please please Jan, do feel better and come back. I will send positive energy (and trust me Jan, me sending my fabulously flighty left brain positive energy to anyone at this miserable time is a enormous gift of love). please get well.

I'm terribly sory. I suferred a sver blockage in my digestive system with vomiting ad inability to take even fluids by mouth. It was very painful and rather uncomfortable but I grabbed a cab to the emergency room of a hospital around midnight and the medical people got me out of it. I just thought I'd notify somebody at OS if I didn't ae it back.At this age I have a panic to look at the dark side. I am back home now and although I still must medicate I think I'll be OK.
take two aspirins and type good buddy
maybe some tepid tea + I Ching
no pics of that open hospital robe, please,
thanks

Happy to hear the sand hasn't run out on you Jan. Comes a time for everyone to lay off the hot sauce.

If the doctor knew you're reading habits together with your digestive ailment, he might have prescribed the following:
OS? Read more, comment less!
Be well Jan. Hope you're back to fighting shape soon.

so not say sorry - we are all relieved its not worse, not disappointed!
do get some rest. pain is exhausting, and so is worry.

Jonathan Wolfman,
A rare opportunity to address you directly. Isn't Jan one of the OS bloggers whom you delete on sight on your blog? Libby too, for that matter.
