Bird-chirp defies rain-
soaked morning as slumber slow
I brave worry mind.
Trodding soft warm sand
as dusk goose bumps memory.
I breathe the horizon.
----------
Night sky sifts snow fine.
Grand, sly confection. Morning
covered in frosting.
----------
Purple cloud swallows
this park, as the mist insists
it be listened to.
----------
Silver drops slap at –
slither – down panes. Sheltered, we’re
mindfully cozy.
-----------
Kittens stalk pigeons.
Windows barred, their spastic tails
answer primal calls.
----------
Snowflake calm descends
I embrace its soft beauty.
God-time opens me.
----------
Glass branches glisten.
Winter’s white velvet sleep. My
breath cuts circle ghosts.
-----------
Bright diamond sky.
Skin listens to delicious breeze.
My void fresh petals full.
----------
Rain shares loneliness.
Funerals on sunny days
seem especially cruel.
----------
"Rain shares loneliness.
Funerals on sunny days
seem especially cruel."
Wonderful, best of the lot! R&R

So many good things here. I like them all! What jmac said, but "Sheltered, we're mindfully cozy" is terrific too. R
jmac, gerald, sky, lyle -- thanks for your generous validation.
thought I would take a brief break from messaging my view of sad and relentlessly ongoing scenarios of government and corporate corruption and celebrate the power, comfort and mystery of Nature using the less is more-ness of haiku poetic distillation (or really senryu, a more personalized haiku).
